Paper Collage: Guitta Corey

60.00

Workshop Thursday October 19th

The Japanese method of collage’ involves tearing or cutting Japanese papers and the resulting picture looks very much like a watercolor painting.

Guest artist Guitta Corey has developed her own unique approach to collage’ art and will talk about how to select and use a variety of Japanese papers to create the effects of painting with papers.  She will lead the class through her techniques with a selection of papers from Miki’s Paper for you to tear or cut and then create your own simple paper art piece. Please note the photos illustrate her fully realized art works that take weeks to complete. This class is a basic primer so all skill levels are welcomed.  Then please join us afterwards in the store for our artist’s reception where you can view Guitta’s giclee’ prints of her original artworks.

Limited to 12 participants. Sign up on our website mikispaper.com or by calling our shop (510) 845-9530.
